Blaufränkisch, also known as Lemberger or Kékfrankos, is a red grape variety primarily grown in Austria, Hungary, and Germany. It is known for its deep aromas of dark berries, spices, and an earthy note.

Blaufränkisch wines typically have flavors of black cherries, blackberries, dark chocolate, allspice, and pepper. They are dry, medium-bodied to full-bodied with medium-high tannins and a vibrant acidity.

Blaufränkisch pairs excellently with grilled meats, hearty stews, roasted vegetables, charcuterie, and various cheeses. The spicy and fruity aromas of the wine perfectly complement these dishes.

High-quality Blaufränkisch wines can be stored for up to 10 years. They age well and develop more complex aromas and softer tannins over time.

Blaufränkisch is primarily grown in Austria, particularly in the Burgenland and Mittelburgenland regions. There are also significant plantings in Hungary, where the grape variety is known as Kékfrankos, as well as in Germany and other parts of Eastern Europe.
