Chateau de Grand Pre Morgon 2022

The vineyards of Morgon are situated on soils rich in iron oxide and manganese, contributing to the typical mineral notes and deep fruitiness of the wines from this region. The mix of granite and schist provides excellent drainage and promotes the slow ripening of the Gamay grapes, resulting in wines with great depth and longevity. These soils are ideal for producing wines with a robust character and pronounced structure.

The Morgon 2022 displays a deep ruby-red color with violet reflections. The wine is full-bodied, with an impressive balance between freshness and structure. The vibrant acidity and ripe tannins make this Morgon particularly accessible, while also offering great aging potential. The dark fruit and spice aromas are complemented by a subtle oak note, resulting from aging in French oak barrels. This Morgon is suitable for both immediate enjoyment and extended aging.

The vines for the Morgon 2022 are on average 50 years old and are sustainably managed. Château de Grand Pré places great emphasis on vine care and maintaining the natural balance in the vineyard. The vinification process is traditional, with a long maceration period to extract the intense aromas and structure of the grapes. The wine then matures in large wooden casks to further develop its complexity and depth.
